Brief Commentary just for you Bears Fans:

The Josh Sitton era officially ends, as the Bears admit that signing him was a terrible decision and that the Packers are always right.  The Bears landed a Bigly Good free agent in Allen Robinson, a receiver with top ten potential.  Paired with other receiving options, including signing Tight End Trey Burton, the team’s passing game is poised to step forward next year if the quarterback can, in fact, turn left.

Detroit Lions

  • 3/13 — Agreed to three-year contract with LB Devon Kennard

  • 3/14 — Signed LB Nick Bellore
  • 3/14 — Released TE Eric Ebron
  • 3/14 — Signed CB DeShawn Shead to one-year contract

Brief Commentary just for you Lions Fans (what is wrong with you?):

The Lions have had a quiet few weeks, making small moves in hopes of improving a decent roster.  Only one story deserves much merit: the dropping of former top ten pick Eric Ebron, a move reportedly made after the Lions could not find a single trade partner for the tight end.  Like, not one team would offer even a 7th round pick, apparently.

  • 3/14 — Re-signed DE Julius Peppers to one-year contract extension

Brief Commentary just for you Panther Fans:

This all seems fine but like it doesn’t really matter.  So let’s take a moment to appreciate Julius Peppers, the immortal one.  He and his ears have nabbed  154.5 sacks, just 5.5 shy of Kevin Greene in third place all time.  At the spry age of 37, Peppers recorded 11 sacks last season back in his beloved Carolina home, and at the 4-3 defensive end spot where he spent the majority of his career.  The gap from Greene to Reggie White and Bruce Smith is likely insurmountable, and it is tempting to blame his detour to Green Bay and time spent as an outside linebacker.  But Peppers was to be reckoned with even with that position change, averaging over 8 sacks a season in Green Bay on limited snaps.

New Orleans Saints

The List:

  • 2/27 — Claimed OT John Theus off waivers
  • 3/3 — Signed S Kurt Coleman to three-year contract
  • 3/7 — Re-signed DE George Johnson to one-year contract extension
  • 3/12 — OT Zach Strief retired
  • 3/13 — Agreed to two-year contract with QB Drew Brees

  • 3/14 — Signed CB Patrick Robinson to four-year contract
  • 3/14 — Signed LB Demario Davis to three-year contract
  • 3/14 — Signed QB Tom Savage

Brief Commentary just for you Saints Fans:

Tom Savage.  Niiiiiiiice.  Unfortunately for the Saints, however, they struck out on their chance to bring back future hall of famer Jimmy Graham, a man indubitably on the verge of a season in which he will nab 35 touchdown passes (28, minimum).  Oh well.  You can’t win them all.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The List:

  • 2/20 — Released RB Doug Martin
  • 2/10 — Released DT Chris Baker
  • 2/26 — Released C Joe Hawley
  • 3/8 — Re-signed QB Ryan Fitzpatrick to one-year contract extension

  • 3/13 — Signed RB Peyton Barber to one-year contract
  • 3/14 — Signed DT Beau Allen
  • 3/14 — Signed K Chandler Catanzaro
  • 3/14 — Signed DE Mitch Unrein

Brief Commentary just for you Bucs Fans:

The biggest move for Tampa Bay on paper would seem to be extending Mike Evans, a receiver who is good at receiving.  But don’t sleep on the addition of Brent Grimes, a once quite good, now very ok-like, cornerback.  With Mr. Grimes comes Ms. Grimes, Miko.  Known for her active use of social media and possible anti-Semitic views, Ms. Grimes acts as a stabilizing force wherever she may roam.  I am sure it will be no different with Tamp Bay.

Finally, Member Doug Martin?  I member.  What a guy.
