2026 NFL Free Agency Wave 2 and 3

Analysis Featured

Free Agency Wave 2 and Wave 3 has crashed upon us. Let’s take a look at all the value signings.

Detroit Lions

EDGE DJ Wonnum (former Viking and Panther) signs a 1 year up 3 million deal with up to 6 million deal incentives with the Lions. Upgrade over always injured Marcus Davenport.

The Lions did need an always injured/bust former Saint though so they signed Payton Turner as a backup (replacing always injured Josh Paschal).

WR KR/PR Greg Dortch replaces Kalif Raymond (signed with Bears that traitor)

Will LB Malcom Rodriguez signed a 1 year deal at 1.4 million cap hit but got paid 2.7 million. Obscure cap rules Boombaya. Damone Clark also signed 1 year 1.4 million as a potential Will LB or good depth.

Isiah Pacheco 1 year 1.81 million to replace Montgomery. Can be just as good but needs to recover from his injury. Younger and more explosive.

Nickel Roger McCreary 1 year 1.4 million takes over for Amik Robertson 2 years 16 million. Lions won this.

Rock Ya Sin 1 year 3.2 million for Terrion Arnold (possible revenge suhspension) and Ennis Rakestraw (insurance)

Teddy Two Gloves Bridgewater is back upgrading over Kyle Allen (signed with Buffalo).

TE Tyler Conklin 1 year 1.3 million upgrades the Lions TE depth.

Christian Izien 1 year 1.3 million is a nice depth signing that can play safety or nickel and hold the fort for Brian Branch while recovering from achilles.

SAM LB Trevor Nowaske and WR/KR Tom Kennedy back on cheap 1 year deals.

Goff converted 40 million of salary to bonus clearing 32 million in space to make all this happen. Goff is the man and cap heaven without too much future cap hits.

One glaring hole at left tackle though (pick 17 incoming). Sewell at LT and Borom at RT would be plan B.

Lions went from one of the oldest rosters in NFL to one of the youngest. Boombaya. One year prove it deals for maximum effort to earn a contract. Big Brain Brad strikes again.

Cap remaining 24.6 million. Signings of All Pro Jack Campbell, Brian Branch, All Pro Sam La Porta and should be All Pro Jahmyr Gibbs could happen later this offseason. Boombaya.

Green Bay Packers

Cut Nate Hobbs post June 1

Javon Hargrave 2 years 23 million to shore up the middle of the defense.

Zaire Franklin upgraded his contract to 2 years 18 million taking over for Quay Walker (Raiders).

Jonathan Ford and Brenton Cox cheap deals.

Skyy Moore 1 year 2.5 million to be a WR depth and punt returner.

Benjamin St Juste 2 years 9.8 million for CB depth or could start.

Elgton Jenkins released for 19.5 million in space (re-sign Rhyan is the center).

Gary trade official for 4th round pick to Cowboys.

Cap remaining 23.6 million

Chicago Bears

Kalif Raymond signed 1 year 3.5 million

Jack Sanborn, James Lynch, Jordan McFadden, Elijah Hicks all signed cheap

Bears cap remaining 1 million. Will need to restructure someone for draft cap space and buffer.

Minnesota Vikings

Kyler Murray 1 year 1.3 million due to the Cardinals paying him. Takes over for failed 9. Carson Wentz 1 year 3 million. McCarthy must really suck.

Ryan Van DenMark signed offer sheet and Vikings got the swing tackle from the Bills (they didn’t match). 1 year 4.2 million. Improved tackle depth for the Vikings.

Johnny Hekker is the new punter signed and Vikings will need him. Andrew DePaola LS signed as well.

Jonathan Allen, Harrison Smith and Javon Hargrave (now Packers) all cut. Allen and Smith were post June 1 due to cap hell.

Aaron Jones 1 year 5.56 million contract/pay cut to stay with Vikings.

CB James Pierre 2 years 8.5 million.

Vikings around 8 million in space which should increase on June 1st with the cuts.

The NFL Draft is the next big way to add talent which will be April 23 (Round 1), April 24 (Round 2-3) and April 25 (Round 5-7) in Pittsburgh.

There are some free agents still available (Cam Jordan, Jadeveon Clowney) but should be mostly quiet until later April. Boombaya
