The 2025 NFL draf t is in the books. There were future hall of famers, duds, studs, trades, reaches and LOL of Shedeur Sanders. Let’s take a look at the hot action.
Detroit Lions: Kings of the North Forever
Round 1 Pick 28 NT Tyleik Williams (Ohio State) massive run stuffer who will replace DJ Reader and fill in for McNeil nicely while he is injured. Quick first step, great leader and massive power. Grade A++++++
Round 2 Pick 67 Guard Tate Rattledge (Georgia). Mauling right guard and who loves to be known as a dirt bag. Plug and play starter. Lions traded up giving up 4th round pick while gaining a 7th round pick. A+++++++
Round 3 Pick 70 Isaac TesLaa X WR (Arkansas) with big size and very good speed. Is a Lions fan from birth and wore a Lions jersey to his top 30 visit. Smart move. Lions got a long term X WR and he can play big slot. Like your mothers. A+++++. Lions did give up two future 3rd rounds picks and pick 102 for him but got a 6th and future 6th. I didn’t like that but in Holmes we trust.
Round 5 Pick 171 Guard Miles Frazier (LSU) Lions trade up into the 5th giving up a 6th and 7th rounder. Another SEC guard that could play some tackle too. Good depth. A+++++
Round 6 EDGE Ahmad Hassenein. First ever player drafted from Egypt. Productive edge from Boise State who is a raw prospect. Lions can develop him. A+++++
Round 7 Safety Dan Jackson (Georgia) Dan the man can play special teams and be safety depth. A++++
Round 7 Slot WR Dominic Lovett (Georgia). Shifty slot WR who will fight to be a backup. A+++++
Green Bay Packers: 3rd place again but 3rd best draft hosted too
Round 1 Pick 23 WR Matthew Golden (Texas) Speed with great hands and pisses off Rodgers. I like the pick.
Round 2 Pick 54 Anthony Belton OT NC State. Solid offensive tackle who could be the future if they move on from Walker.
Round 3 Pick 87 Savion Williams TCU. Big WR who is shifty. Compared to Cordarelle Patterson.
Round 4 Pick 124 EDGE Baryn Sorrell (Texas) Developmental edge rusher
Round 5 Pick 159 Colin Oliver. EDGE/LB from Oklahoma State.
Round 6 Pick 198 DT Warren Brinson DT Georgia
Round 7 Pick 237 Micah Robinson CB Tulane
Round 7 Pick 250 Guard John Williams Cincinatti
Good draft for the Packers filling their huge WR need and future at OT. We’ll see if they missed out on some EDGEs though.
Minnesota Vikings (F Dem Picks)
Round 1 Pick 24 Donovan Jackson OG Ohio State. Left guard from Ohio State who is very production. Has a little tackle ability. Will battle Brendel for the starting spot.
Round 3 Pick 102 WR Tai Felton Maryland. Needed a 3rd/4th receiver
Round 5 Pick 139 DT Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins DE/DT Georgia. Big EDGE that could develop inside
Round 6 Pick 201 LB Kobe King. Solid LB from Penn State for good depth
Round 6 Pick 202 TE Gavin Bartholomew Pitt. Depth at TE
Vikings didn’t have many picks from trades but had a solid draft getting a starting guard and some depth. All up to JJ McCarthy now.
Chicago Bears (At Least You Tried)
Round 1 Pick 10 Colston Loveland TE Michigan. Ben Johnson thinks he is a La Porta clone
Round 2 Pick 39 Luther Burden III Missouri. Big bodied X WR that should start. DJ Moore to slot?
Round 2 Pick 56 Ozzy Trapilo OT Boston College. Trade down and depth at OT that could battle Braxton Jones at LT
Round 2 Pick 62 Shemar Turner DT Texas A&M. Has the body type but needs more production. DT depth for the future
Round 4 132 Ruben Hypoolite II LB Maryland. LB depth behind Edwards and Edmunds
Round 5 Pick 169 CB Zah Frazier UCLA. CB depth
Round 6 Pick 195 OG Luke Newman Michigan State. Guard depth
Round 7 Pick 233 RB Kyle Monanngai RB Rutgers. RB depth
Bears got a La Porta but Warren is better. Burden good choice and some depth the rest of the way. Make or break for Poles.
Lions won the draft and the NFC North for a 3rd time.
