Week 11 NFC North Preview

Analysis Featured

Week 10 of the NFL season is complete with the kings of the North rightly back in their throne. The 6-3 Detroit Lions whipped the Commanders 44-22 to gain control in 1st in the North. The Bears 6-3 got a Jaxon Dart injury late to come back and beat the Giants (who fired Daboll after the game). The Packers (5-3-1) lost a defensive slug fest 10-7 to the Eagles on MNF. The Vikings (4-5) got beaten by Lamar Jackson and the surging Ravens. It’s only going to get more intense and interesting as the season moves along.

Week 11

Packers at Giants 1PM ET FOX

The Packers get to rebound with an opponent in shambles. The Giants fired their coach Brian Daboll and rookie QB Jaxson Dart is in concussion protocol. RB Cam Skattebo and WR Malik Nabers are out with leg injuries. However, the Giants defense is solid and face off with the struggling Packers offense without Reed, Kraft and now Elgton Jenkins. HC Matt LeFleur will need to figure out a way to get the offense humming. If they play down to their opponents like Browns and Panthers, they could lose again (like 2023 season against DeVito). However, the Green Bay Packers defense is really good and Russell Wilson is really bad right now. Could they try and eat a W with Jameis Winston?

Bears at Vikings 1 PM ET FOX

The Vikings and Bears face off for the second time this season. The Vikings won a freakish come back in Week 1 in the 4th Quarter at Soldier Field. The Vikings need to win to save their season, sweep the Bears and help the Lions. Aaron Jones has given them a boost along with Darrisaw and O’Neil healthier but the Ravens defense figured them out. JJ McCarthy must improve against a Bears defense that hasn’t been that good. Bears have been winning close games recently with their 4th place schedule (beating Saints, Raiders, Giants etc.) but will want revenge after Week 1. Flores will need to come up with a plan to stop Ben Johnson as Bears have run the ball well and Caleb Williams is making enough plays for a solid offense.

Division games are always a tough to call, but Vikings are at home.

Lions at Eagles Sunday Night Football

Game of the week and what should have been the NFC Championship game last season if not for Lions injuries and flukes. Detroit’s new offense with Dan Campbell calling plays will get his first real test against a stingy Eagles defense. Jalen Phillips, Nolan Smith and Brandon Graham have given the Eagles a boost in pass rush. Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell have been great cornerbacks. Linebacker Zach Baun continues to be a playmaker and Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis are menaces at DT. Detroit’s offensive line is going to need to step up so Gibbs, St Brown, La Porta and Jameson Williams can make plays.

On defense stopping Barkley is priority 1 and don’t let Hurts win with legs. Detroit’s secondary down DJ Reed and Kerby Joseph don’t want to let AJ Brown, Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert get going.

Could be a defensive battle or a shootout given the teams’ offensive talent. Lions announce they own the NFC.
