Scooped: Enter the Madness

Scooped rages on this week. It’s St Patrick’s Day so get jaked on green beers and watch college basketball to celebrate. Let’s take a look at some NFL news

Bye Bye Bears, Hello Hoodie (And Winning Team)

The Bears traded disgruntled TE Martellus Bennett and a 6th round pick to the Patriots for a 4th round pick. This is a good trade for both teams. The Bears have been trying to move Bennett for over a year. He’ll fit right into the two tight end system in New England alongside Gronk. The good news for Bennett is he can’t do anything worse off the field than the last guy they spent a pick on there. Well unless he kills four people.

Shea McClellin is taking his “talents” to the Patriots on a three year deal. The 2012 1st round pick for the Bears never lived up to his 1st round draft status. He was pretty much a bust and the Bears allowed him to walk after four years. We’ll see if he can revive his career in New England. New England has a top 10 PPG defense every year. We’ll see if that continues even with McClellin.

Free agent bust Jermon Bushrod also signed a one year deal with Miami.

Tackle This Issue

Russell Okung visited the Broncos. Ryan Clady returns from an ACL injury but has a huge cap hit for the Broncos. The Broncos want Clady to take a pay cut. We will see if Clady hits the trade market and where Okung lands hopefully this week.

ILB Market

Courtney Upshaw visited the Jets. The former Ravens 1st round pick is a good run defender. Karlos Dansby is old but is very good in coverage. Dansby was cut from the Browns but is still a solid player. He won’t count against compensatory picks (wink wink Thompson).

Donald Butler is still available after being cut by the Chargers. James Laurinitus still roams the streets too looking for work.

Changing of the Guard

Evan Mathis signed a deal with the Cardinals. This is a great move by the Cardinals to upgrade over Jonathan Cooper.

Free Agents Available

There are still free agents available. Russell Okung is the best out there by far. Leon Hall, Reggie Nelson, Antonio Cromartie, Anquan Boldin, Marques Colston, Jahri Evans,William Beatty, Andre Johnson, Dwayne Bowe are older veterans available.

Here is the full list available and signed.
