The free agency negotiating window has officially arrived. I decided to shower you with a Scooped today and delay the Draft Prospect series in honor of free agency.

QB News

Congrats to BWC. Brock Osweiler was offered a 3 year 45 million deal. However, the window is now open and Houston will be calling Osweiler’s agent. Bidding war?

Peyton Manning will retire today or be released from the Broncos today. The Rams had mild interest but didn’t guarantee Manning anything. Manning revolutionized the QB position and had a great career. It’s time for the Sheriff to ride off into the sunset after a Super Bowl win.

DE

Mario Williams and Charles Johnson are both stud 30 year DEs who were cut for cap reasons. Both visited the Giants this weekend. The Giants are looking to replace JPP and both would be good fits in New York. Mario Williams also visited the Dolphins and may visit the Bucs and Jaguars. These two stud pass rushers are still valuable to pass rush needy teams. Williams is 31 and Johnson is 30 but they both can bring consistent pressure for a 4-3 team. Williams didn’t fit Rex Ryan’s scheme but he is good in a 4-3 in both Buffalo and Houston in the past. Johnson missed time due to injury in 2015 but played well when healthy and during the playoff run.

DT

The Lions signed Tyrunn Walker to a one year deal worth 1.6 million. The deal could become 2.2 million with incentives. Walker is healthy after his broken leg and ankle during Week 4 last season. The Patriots had interest in Walker last year and Quinn kept Walker in Detroit in his first major personnel move as Detroit’s GM. Walker had a good 2014 with the Saints and was solid in his 3.5 games with the Lions in 2015. Walker can satisfy one starting DT spot for the Lions. This was good prove it deal for both the Lions and Walker.

The Vikings re-signed Kenrick Elllis for DT depth on a one year deal.

The Dolphins restructured Ndmakong Suh and Koa Misi for cap room. Surprise surprise.

Safety

The Vikings re-signed Andrew Sendejo to a 4 year 16 million dollar deal. This is starter money and the Vikings may stand pat on their 2014 personnel at safety with this move. Senedjo had a -7.2 grade in 2015 and I thought the Vikings would upgrade at strong safety. Spielman and Zimmer likes Sendejo’s youth and potential apparently

Kicker

The Packers have re-signed Mason Crosby to a four year deal. Crosby received a 4 year deal worth 16 million with a 5 million signing bonus. Crosby is third highest paid kicker in the league now. This was a good move for the Packers as Crosby is reliable sans one year in the league.

TE

Martellus Bennett wants a trade and the Bears want to trade the loud mouthed tight end. Bennett is a good player but talks a lot. The Bears don’t need the cap space but may want to look elsewhere at tight end if they can get a good trade.
