Sunday has arrived, and in a couple of hours the day’s slate of games will kick off.  At noon, the Panthers host the Vikings in a much-anticipated matchup, and viewers will be interested to see whether the Vikings stout defense can stop one of the best offenses in the NFL.  The Vikings, meanwhile, will hope Sam Bradford can keep a hot hand after a strong performance despite heavy pressure from the Packers a week ago.

The Packers are hosting the Lions for their home opener, also a noon kickoff (thanks NFL).  While the weather may not be great for the meeting of fast friends from around the reaches of cyberspace, and both teams are missing significant contributors, each team should nevertheless be looking for strong performances after disappointing losses in week 2.

At 3:30 CST (a/k/a best time), the Buccaneers travel to Los Angeles to take on a Rams team coming off a nice win against the Seahawks.  The Bucs need to rebound following a thrashing at the hands of the Cardinals.  Jameis Winston will look to recover from a bad week.

And finally, for reasons unexplained and perhaps impossible to explain, the NFL has scheduled the Bears at the Cowboys for the night game.  Perhaps the NFL is making an indirect argument for early-season flex scheduling.  If so, it worked.  Wake up sheeple!
