The Chicago Bears have added former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio to the same role, also adding former 49ers defensive back’s coach Ed Donatell in some capacity on defense.
The Bears notified defensive coordinator Mel Tucker and special teams coach Joe DeCamillis that they would not be returning to the Bears.
Under Fangio, the 49ers over the past four seasons have ranked in the top-ten in both points allowed and yards allowed.
