I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi where I learned the three rules of life: Lord loves a workin' man; don't trust whitey; see a doctor and get rid of it.
Before I say anything else, let me throw out a big thank you to Andy for installing a plugin that restored the backend of this site to the way it used to be. MaC screwed it up, and Andy fixed it. I love you man. #NoHomo #MaybeALittleHomo
So, my A’s lost last night. 1 game playoffs are stupid and I hate them. However, this is the second year in a row that Bob Melvin decided not to use his best pitcher for the wildcard game and this is the second year in a row it has bit him in the ass. What was he saving Mike Fiers for? Game one of the ALDS? Now I’m just some schlub scribbling down some words on an obscure sports website, but even I know that if you lose in the wildcard game, you don’t make it to the ALDS. Hats off to Tampa tho, they played a great game and as much as I’d like to cheer for Alex Bregman, fuck the Astros and go Rays!
Now for the reason you’re all here…to scroll down to the chat. If you don’t mind, I’m going to write some stuff to make you scroll more. Week 4 has come and gone and it has been proven to us that the Vikings do indeed suck. The Bears have to be the Super Bowl favorite now that Trubisky is ded. The Packers lost to a team that lost to the Falcons and the Lions…they actually played well. They lost, but they played well. LOLThem. Below the Mason–Dixon line, we have Jameis Winston throwing for 4 scores while defeating the once mighty LA Rams. The Panthers are starting to look like a threat with their backup QB and the Saints somehow found a way to win another one without Bridgewater’s help at all. The most pleasing part of week 4 for me was the continuing slide of the Atlanta Falcons. No worries though since they can still, mathematically, make it to 13-3 and prove Jammin correct. Speaking of Jammin…
Some people did some things last week. DanOnWis was the big mover, picking up 2 points. It was his first points of the year, but that’s okay since it puts him ahead of Donny in the standings. Jmac, LoW, 0125, Nate, Potatoes and myself all picked up one point. The point I got mattered the most tho, since it put me in first place all by myself, with no help from anyone what-so-ever. Let’s look at the breakdown…
WEEK 4 WRAP UP
- You were all wrong
(This shouldn’t shock you.)
Margin of Vctory:
- 0125, Kansas City Chiefs over Detroit Lions by 4 points
- natesweet, Chicago Bears over Minnesota Vikings by 10 points
(Nate and 0125 are in a 5-way orgy for 5th place.)
- DanOnWis, Tennessee Titans 24 points in a win vs. the Atlanta Falcons
- jmac34, Kansas City Chiefs 34 points in a win vs. the Detroit Lions
- LambeauOrWrigley, Kansas City Chiefs 34 points in a win vs. the Detroit Lions
(LoW doing studly things.)
Against The Grain:
- DanOnWis, Carolina Panthers over Houston Texans (8.33%)
- potatoes, New Orleans Saints over Dallas Cowboys (16.67%)
- thenichels, New Orleans Saints over Dallas Cowboys (16.67%)
(Potatoes is my bud for picking the Saints.)
(I could cheat and say I got one.)

The above only represents games that involved the NFCN or NFCS. If you wish, the leader board for those who weren’t too “busy” to pick all the games is here. This only contains those of you who actually scored a point in CYST. Want to see your name here? Do better and stop sucking. Seeing that Raji has yet to score a point explains why he’s been so moody lately. I’m pulling for you champ.
Wondering why some of the names have a different background color? Well, that’s because of a fantastic feature of the CYST site. If you click on My Account on the top right of the CYST site (when you’re logged in), you will see my todo list for that page, but also a color picker. If you choose a color there (and click update), that color will be the background on the site in tables where your name appears.
Rams @ the Seachickens tonight. Might be a good game, but even if you don’t plan on watching it, you should make that pick today. Get your butt over to CYST and make a pick for all the games, or be a bitch and just pick the NFCN/S games. Go, go make your picks. How do you get to the site so that you can pick games? Well, that’s a good question. If only there was a uniform resource locator in the form of a hyperlink.
