Hey. It Me. The Draft is over and now we have to wait in Quarantine until training camps hopefully start in late July. The schedule is supposed to come out this week so that will be exciting and a good reason for me to write another article. Until then, here is some NFC North news.

UDFA

Here is a list of all the UDFAs signed

Packers

Patrick Taylor (RB), Jordan Jones (TE), Zac Johnson (G), Franki Griffen LB, Krys Barnes (LB), Henry Black (S), Travis Bruffy T, Marc-Antoine Dequoy (CB), Tipa Galeia (DE), Willington Prevlion (DT). I feel the Packers are just making up crazy names and signing them. Stanford Samuels (CB), Delontae Scott (DE),  Will Sunderland (DB), Trevyon Hester (DE), Darrell Stewart (WR). Hey look you got a new WR for Aaron Rodgers.

Vikings

Nothing stands out here. I watch Penn State every week and I don’t even know who Dan Chisena is.

Bears

Let’s see if they are luckier at finding a decent UDFA instead of a QB.

Lions

New punter Aryn Siposs from Australia has a shot to be the Lions punter after Sam Martin left in free agency. He battles Jack Fox. Hunter Bryant was the best UDFA available and could win the third tight end role over Isaac Nauta. Both have H-back abilities. GM Bob Quinn added FB and long snapper as well to battle with Nick Bawden and Don “The Mule” Muhlbach. Getcha popcorn ready for punter, full back 3rd tight end/H-back and long snapper camp battles.

Other News/Signing

The Bears didn’t have many draft picks so they went on a one year deal signing spree. The Bears signed NT John Jenkins, WR Ted Ginn, WR/returner Trevor Davis and S Tashaun Gipson. Gipson is a long time starter for Jacksonville and Texans so he could actually start over Deon Bush at Safety. Tedd Ginn replaces Taylor Gabriel. Trevor Davis brings up old wounds for Packer fans. Jenkins provide nice run stuffing depth.

5th Year Options

The Packers didn’t have a 5th year option. They traded out of Round 1 to pick 33 and took Kevin King. King will be a free agent after this season. Make or break year for King.

The Vikings didn’t have a 1st round pick. Remember when Nichels called in about that and got mentioned on tv. Hilarious.

The deadline passed and 50% of the 1st round 5th year options were picked up. The Lions declined Jarrad Davis and won’t pay him 10 million for 2021. Davis will become a free agent after this year. The fast LB has been inconsistent to say the least for Detroit and has had coverage issues. Detroit will get the most out of him in a contract year. The scheme change and no vets around him didn’t help Davis develop. We shall see if they can salvage him as a Lion and bring him back on a cheaper deal for 2021.

Mitch Trubisky also got declined a 24 million dollar 5th year option. The Bears traded for Nick Foles so they will fight to the death to be the 2020 starter. Foles is much cheaper for the next 3 years. Never forget the Bears passed on Pat Maholmes and DeShaun Watson to pick Trubisky. Beautiful.

Remaining Free Agents

Jadeveon Clowney and Logan Ryan want big money. Cam Newton is ready with his crazy hats. Everson Griffen is still out there and the Vikings haven’t closed the door on him yet. Ziggy Ansah is injured out in the world somewhere. Joe Flacco has a unibrow ready to fire. Devonta Freeman is Jammins favorite free agent.

Carlos Hyde is a 1,000 yard back just sitting out there. Former Lion Theo Riddick can catch some passes. Paul Richardson has some speed. NT Damon Harrison could add some snacks to a team. RB/WR Ty Montgomery is available, remember him. Cam Wake, Marcus Golden are decent edge rushers. Corey Liueget, Marcel Dareus and Mike Daniels for DTs. Vontaze Burfict is being dirty somewhere. Prince Amukamara, Aqib Talib, Tavon Wilson and Jonathan Crypien are notable DBs. Plus many more.

Available 2020 NFL Free Agents

Can’t wait for the schedule to see the 16 Lion victim dates and times.
