The Lions, Packers and Vikings all earned nice home wins on Sunday. The Bears, well, bless their hearts, lost to the Colts in Indy.

Eagles at Lions

The Lions played a great first half with three long touchdown drives in three series. Stafford (135 rating) threw 3 tds. Riddick caught two and Marvin Jones had one. Riddick ran well with 4.5 ypc and Stafford had decent protection despite 4 sacks allowed.

The Eagles had a long td and field goal drive but one forced punt on a sack by newcomer Armond Bryant. Detroit led 21-10 at half again.

The Eagles rebounded in the second half with a long td on the first drive. Stafford had a fluke fumble untouched but the Lions red zone defense held strong for a field goal only. Detroit had two terrible drives and Eagles were forced to punt as well. The Eagles marched down the field for a field goal in the mid fourth quarter and a 23-21 lead. Detroit’s offense was still asleep and punted again.

The Eagles were a first down from winning the game but Darius Slay converted a big fumble that Tyrunn Walker recovered. Stafford hit Golden Tate for 27 yards to set up the Prater chip shot. Lions led 24-23. Eagles still had plenty of time but no time outs. Wentz tried to get it all at once going deep. Slay made an incredible pick on the deep ball and the Lions sealed the victory. Jim Schwartz had to walk off the field.

This was a huge win for the a Lions that can jump start their season with home games against Rams and Redskins on the horizon.

Giants at Packers

Packers dominated on defense and ran the ball well. Rodgers had protection but looked a little off despite two tds and an opening td drive. Randall Cobb made some clutch first downs. The Packers won 23-16 despite a late OBJ touchdown. Packers host the Cowboys next week.

Texans at Vikings

The Viking defense dominated again. Osweiler was terrible and Bradford was efficient.Adam Thielen had 127 yards and a td with Stefan Diggs out. Marcus Sherels had his second punt return of the year. Vikings stopped Lamar Miller and Osweiler did nothing. The Texans defense really misses Watt. The Vikings are the lone undefeated team in league. Vikings won 31-13 in a rout. Vikings have a bye next week.

Bears at Colts

The Bears played well offensively in first half but trailed 16-13. Chicago missed a huge field goal and were down 19-13. Chicago rebounded with a fg and td drive for a 23-19 lead. The Colts answered right back with a td to TY Hilton. The Bears fumbled on the next possession which gave the Colts another big 3 points and a w9-23 lead. The Bears couldn’t mount a comeback with Homer and turned it over on downs for the loss. The 1-4 Bears host Jacksonville in Week 6.
